LIFEBOAT crews were sent to three incidents on Saturday as the sunshine brought crowds to the coast.

Poole lifeboat volunteers launched to reports of a 37ft yacht which had suffered a snap to the forestay with two people on board.

The crew met the yacht halfway down the Swash Channel, and helped to attach additional lines to secure the mast and prevent it from falling.

They escorted the vessel back to Poole Quay Boat Haven.

At 5.45pm the crew were called to a report of two missing people off the beach at Bournemouth Pier. However, they were called back while on their way as the pair had been found safe and well ashore.

The last job of the day was to help a five metre speedboat which had broken down between Rockley and Lake Pier. Volunteers were on scene by 7.30pm and after checking the two people on board, attached a tow line and brought them back to Rockley Park.
