Fire crews were sent to a heath fire at St Catherine's Hill in Christchurch.
The fire service was sent at 2.39pm to the incident.
A pump, Land Rover pump, water carrier and another crew from Wimborne were sent to the scene.
An area around 25m by 25m was alight, with another crew from Redhill also requested.
The fire was extinguished using one main jet, one hose reel jet from the landrover pump, beaters and backpacks.
Chris Gordon told the Echo: "I've just had four fire engines and the Land Rover going past on the way to St Catherine's Hill."
