THE building site occupied by homelessness protestors over Christmas is now a car park.
The 'Occupy Sanctuary' was set up on the former Punshon Memorial Church site in Exeter Road by a mixture of homeless people and campaigners shortly before Christmas, and there were dramatic scenes as the camp was evicted by bailiffs on January 2.
The site has been empty since the church was demolished in April 2015. In February last year developer the Mast (Bournemouth) Ltd was granted outline planning permission for a 96-bed block of flats on the site, although the design and layout has yet to be approved.
However the site is now in use as a car park run by local firm Britannia Parking.
While the firm's signage is in place, with a notice warning that cameras are in use, the site is largely unchanged and the surface has not been finished.
