POOLE MP Sir Robert Syms has dismissed rumours he will be standing down at the next election.
The MP for Poole said he was aware of the rumours but they were not true.
He said dependent on any changes to parliamentary boundaries, it was his intention to continue as Poole MP.
He was honoured with a knighthood in October 2017.
Sir Robert has been MP for Poole since 1997 and he retained the seat in last year’s snap General Election with 57.9 percent of the vote - a 28.5 percent majority.
