POOLE council has successfully applied for an eviction order for travellers who set up camp at Kingland Road car park earlier this week.
Although there were initially 19 caravans and motorhomes, and other vehicles, at the unauthorised encampment, there were 10 remaining this afternoon.
The travellers now have 24 hours to leave the car park, which is next to the Poole (Dolphin) Leisure Centre.
A spokesperson for Borough of Poole said: “We were successful in court and have now served the orders on the remaining 10 vans. They have 24 hours to leave the site.”
Toilets and a skip were provided by the council, which has a policy to minimise the environmental contamination caused by illegal encampments.
