HOARDINGS have been put up around the Clock Garage in Bournemouth in preparation for its demolition.
The site, at the junction of High Howe Lane and Ringwood Road, has been used as a second hand car dealer and hand car wash for years.
Plans have been approved to turn the site into a block of 15 flats with underground parking and cycle storage.
Previous schemes were dismissed over their bulk and impact on the street scene.
A planning report said as there are other retail facilities in the area, the loss of the showroom would not be considered harmful in this case.
Parking would be provided in a basement car park from High Howe Lane.
The scheme was approved by Bournemouth Borough Council last year.
