PATRONS of Bournemouth's Hilton will be able to use the 'Level8ight' sky bar terrace until 3am.
Borough planning officers have agreed to alter a condition applied when planning permission was first granted for the development which imposed a cut-off time of 11pm to avoid causing a nuisance for neighbours.
Oddly, the limit applied only to bar patrons who were not guests of the hotel, and the site is otherwise licensed to 3am.
The report states: "With reference to the Sky Bar, the environmental health officer considers that if no live or amplified entertainment is provided outside after 11pm, there are no
objections to the external areas being open until 3am.
"Given the above, and that no formal complaints have been received during the period the areas have been in operation, the permanent variation as identified is considered acceptable."
The hotel has also been granted permission to allow the public to use its ground floor terrace until 11pm.
