HOBURNE are proud to announce that they have raised £100,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The Hoburne Group chose to support Cancer Research for 2017 and had a big fundraising drive across their seven holiday parks and three golf clubs. The group raised a total of £100,000 through various initiatives, all going straight to Cancer Research UK to fund life-changing research.

Hoburne’s three holiday parks in Dorset and Hampshire, the Christchurch Hoburne Head Office, and two Dorset based golf clubs raised over £50,000 towards the overall funds for Cancer Research UK.

With raffles, cake sales and quizzes; employees, holiday homeowners and holidaymakers across Dorset based Hoburne Park and Hampshire based Hoburne Bashley and Hoburne Naish all helped to raise thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK.

Staff members at Crane Valley took part in a sky dive and the Captains at each club ran charity golf days.

The Hoburne Group’s head office in Christchurch, Dorset also got involved raising over £11,000 for the charity.

From skydives by the park and golf teams and an abseil by the Hoburne Chairman, to shaving heads and quiz’s, Hoburne employees showed great team spirit inspiring each other to raise money for the charity.

Cancer Research UK doesn’t receive any funding from the government; with every penny being donated, their progress relies solely on the generosity of the public.

Hoburne Holidays also supported the charity through a holiday booking donation scheme. The company donated £1 to Cancer Research UK for every holiday booked throughout 2017.

Nicola Dunford, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager said: "Hoburne Holidays have made a huge financial contribution to Cancer Research UK’s work with their amazing fundraising activity over the past year and we are incredibly grateful for their support. The amount they have raised, £100k, would be enough to buy an innovative scanner which can take mug shots of cancer cells in a tumour tissue sample and share them with researchers across the world. All of the total raised by the Hoburne Holidays will go directly to fund research at Southampton Cancer Centre to beat cancer sooner, helping to ensure more men, women and children survive a cancer diagnosis."

Rosie Kennar, Hoburne chairman added: "I could not be more proud of what has been achieved across the Hoburne Group during our fundraising year for Cancer Research UK. Our teams have thrown themselves in to achieving their targets by running a huge range of events throughout the year.

"It is not easy to raise funds these days and we are thrilled that our individual and team efforts has resulted in reaching a total of £100,000. Knowing that this money will really make a difference in the fight against cancer in all its vile forms makes it all worthwhile.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and generously donated throughout the year – colleagues, suppliers, family, friends, and our wonderful holiday home owners, holidaymakers and golf club members and visitors. Together we have made a difference!"
