THERE ARE just 24 hours until the semi-finalists in the 2018 Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards (BAPTAs) will be revealed.

Following a rigorous judging process which included mystery shoppers from a panel of tourism judges, the initial entries for this year’s BAPTAs have now been shortlisted.

The semi-finalists for each category will be revealed at a special invitation only event tomorrow.

All of the semi-finalists will be awarded framed certificates at the Bournemouth and Poole College.

Jackie Phillipson, organiser of the BAPTAs from RoutePr, said: “To be chosen as a semi-finalist is a fantastic achievement and this year it is tougher than ever.”

Invited guests will enjoy local Fordington Gin and Templar Wines accompanied by canapés created by the hospitality and catering students at Bournemouth and Poole College.

Following the semi-finals, the finalists for each of the 19 categories will be invited to a Meet the Finalists event held on February 21 at Poole Audi.

The 19 winners of the 2018 BAPTAs will be awarded their trophies at the final gala dinner event hosted at the Lighthouse on March 15.

Around 500 business people from across the region are expected to attend what is described as, “an evening of celebration and entertainment”. Tickets for the finals can be purchased at bapta.co.uk/buytickets/.
