RULES about dogs are being reviewed in North Dorset.
Residents and visitors have been invited by the district council to contribute their thoughts on rules governing canines in public places, and where hounds should be kept on a lead.
With this feedback, the council will draw-up new Dog Control Orders, which will then be introduced as part of Public Space Protection Orders. Councils are required to consult on the orders every three years.
Councillor Andrew Kerby, portfolio holder for community safety, said: "We will try to strike a balance to suit the interests of all.
"I would like to urge everyone, dog owners and non-dog owners, to complete the survey online, it is very easy and only takes about five minutes. Your views count so please do have a say.
"North Dorset District Council encourages responsible dog ownership. Most owners are very responsible, unfortunately a small minority who do not clear-up after their dogs do cause a problem."
For the survey visit dorsetforyou.com/your-say-dogs-north or pick up a paper copy from North Dorset libraries and the council's Nordon office. It runs until March 2.
