A TEENAGE boy from Poole died after inhaling lighter fluid, an inquest has heard.
Bradley Caleb Johnson, 15, died at an address in Summer Fields, Verwood while with friends on Friday, August 11.
Coroner’s officer Allan Young said Mr Johnson was “witnessed to collapse” after inhaling a swab soaked with lighter fluid.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were all called to the scene around midnight following reports of a possible cardiac arrest, as reported previously in the Daily Echo.
Despite the efforts of police officers and paramedics, Mr Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement, the inquest heard.
A post-mortem was carried out on Tuesday, August 15, which found the cause of death as inhalation of volatile substances including propane, isobutane, and butane.
Assistant coroner Richard Middleton adjourned the inquest until March 12, 2018.
