A DRIVER who “stank of cannabis” was arrested after they were stopped by the Dorset Police No Excuse Team.
The driver told police they had read on Facebook that cannabis only stays in the system for eight hours after a drug wipe was carried out.
A spokesperson for the No Excuse team said: “Facebook was wrong. Under arrest for drug driving and faces a 12 month ban if over the limit."
According to a review carried out by the US National Drug Court Institute, an occasional or first-time user could test positive up to four days after using cannabis, while a frequent user would test positive up to 10 days later.
