THE world's last sea-going paddle steamer, Waverley, is sailing from Swanage Pier until later this month.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of Waverley's maiden voyage, after she was built on the River Clyde.
Captain Ross Cochrane said: "We are delighted to be returning to the south coast during Waverley's 70th anniversary year.
"Waverley is well known throughout the UK and I believe the attraction with the vessel lies in a mix of things - the heritage, the history, maritime history, engineering and the scenery.
"But I think more than anything, it is just a great day out."
The paddle streamer will be operating from Swanage Pier up until Thursday, September 21, offering cruises along the Jurassic Coast and Portsmouth Dockyard.
The vessel, which carries around 130,000 passengers a year, has been restored to her original 1940s style.

Tickets can also be purchased on board on the day of sailing.
