I NOTE that Ray O’Luby continues on his Luddite mission objecting to the potential 2,000 new jobs for local people at Wessex Fields.
The report he refers to does indeed include modelling predictions that these new jobs will create almost 1,200 extra journeys. However, the report goes on to point out that the new link road will not only accommodate those additional journeys, but will have room to spare.
Indeed, if Mr O’Luby had read on, he would have understood that the same model predicts the net effect on the most congested road – Castle Lane East – to be an OVERALL REDUCTION of over 800 peak hour journeys per day.
Surely it would leave readers better informed if those arguing their case did so with objectivity rather than trying to mislead.
