THE Baiter Park toilet saga deteriorates into total farce.
We have had a further incursion of travellers at Harbourside 1 car park and...yes, you know, a portable toilet has been provided-100m away from the public toilets that have been closed! You couldn't make it up.
In addition, the portable toilet has been sited between the caravans. This is rubbing salt into the wounds especially when recently at an Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting it was decided by the Chair's casting vote to keep public toilets closed and even an amendment to provide cheap temporary toilet provision for increased numbers of visitors during the summer holidays was also turned down.
But hey presto! Travellers turn up and so does a portable loo.
This council is bankrupt of any compassion and care, yet turn a blind eye to elderly and very young people scrabbling around in bushes to relieve themselves around the 'stinking cesspit' that we call public toilets. MIKE RANDALL
