A GROUP for adults with learning disabilities has been boosted by the Yellow Buses/Daily Echo Carbon Stoppers scheme.
The self-advocacy group Poole Forum, based at Ashley Road, Parkstone, runs the Go Forum group which regularly at Poole College and has more than 500 members across the borough.
It received £200 from Carbon Stoppers, which has handed out nearly £20,000 to charities and good causes since its launch in 2008.
Each week, Yellow Buses holds a Thank You Thursday when every trip taken by passengers on the day contributes to a separately administered community chest.
Kimberley Fields from Poole Forum said: “We’re a self-advocacy group for adults with learning disabilities and rely on donations.
“We aim to help or members be independent, have more choice and control and to be included in the community.
“This money will help us fund our newsletter which allows us to communicate with all our members.”
Terri Hignett from Yellow Buses said: “Many of the forum’s members use Yellow Buses to get around so this was an obvious charity to help.
“The initiative helps small, local charities and Poole Forum does great work within our community.”
