There will be street racing and more than 100 classic cars on display at the New Milton Town Show this weekend. The vintage cars will be on show at the Recreation Ground on Saturday with the ever-popular Pedal Car Grand Prix taking place on Sunday. The show opens on Saturday at 10am and closes at 4pm, whilst on Sunday the day runs from 10am through until the Pedal Car Prize Giving ceremony at approximately 4.30pm.

The Beach Polo Championships at Sandbanks get under way today, with top polo players from around the world taking centre stage for the tournament. Sandfest will take place on Sunday with DJs, live music and food stalls for people to enjoy throughout the day.

The International Cheerleading and Dance Competition comes to the BIC this weekend. Hundreds of cheerleaders will be taking part in the event which starts today and finishes on Sunday. Tickets available at bic.co.uk/whats-on/future-cheer-2017

Calling all gin lovers! A gin festival is coming to Poole Lighthouse on Saturday with more 120 different types of gin from around the world to try. There are two slots to choose from; an afternoon slot which runs from 12noon to 5pm and an evening slot which takes place from 6pm to 11pm. 

Minstead Trust's annual summer fete takes place on Saturday from 12.30-4.30pm, promising an afternoon of activities and stalls, live music, a dog show, tombola and more. All proceeds raised with go to the charity. Visit minsteadtrust.org.uk.

A West Cliff Community Litter Pick takes place on Saturday from 10.30am. Volunteers should meet at the end of the path leading to the Green from Durley Gardens. Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided at the event, backed by Rotary Club of Westbourne.

A summer fete will be held at All Saints’ Church in Western Road, Branksome Park, from 12 noon on Saturday on the vicarage lawn.

The Hurn Court Opera will perform Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at a special charity concert on Sunday. The event will help raise funds for music therapy for children at the Poole Hospital. The 13th Boogie Woogie Festival at Sturminster Newton with 35 events in ten different venues including swing dance, cafe gigs and workshops runs between Friday and Sunday. 

A family pet service will be held at All Saints' Church in Western Road on Sunday, July 9 at 10am. Do bring along your pet along for a special blessing. All pets are welcome.
