THE sun shone down on Christchurch as members of the ancient borough's council paraded through the town today.
Councillors, Honorary Aldermen and Honorary Freemen were among the robed and booted procession from the Mayor's Parlour in the High Street down to the Priory Church, where a service was held.
Among those taking part were new mayor Cllr Nick Geary, flanked by the mayor's scouts, and new deputy mayor Cllr Lesley Dedman, as well as borough chief executive David McIntosh.
Cllr Geary, who grew up in Mudeford, runs an engineering business and is chairman of Highcliffe Scout Group and a governor at Highcliffe School.
