A FORMER secretary who was knocked off her scooter in 1963 has died of her injuries more than 50 years later.
Susan Beckett suffered severe brain injuries and was unconscious for six months following the accident when she was just 18-years-old, a Bournemouth inquest heard.
Miss Beckett, 71, died in Branksome Park Nursing Home in Mornish Road, Poole of traumatic brain injury on April 23, Dorset Coroner Rachael Griffin was told.
The inquest heard Miss Beckett, who was unemployed at the time of her death, suffered injuries in the collision with a vehicle driven by a neighbour,who has since died.
There was no prosecution but she received an out of court settlement.
The inquest was adjourned until October.
