AVENGERS and Agent Carter star Hayley Atwell was spotted filming with Matthew MacFadyen in Swanage today.

The pair were filming a scene for the BBC’s new production of the E.M. Forster novel Howards End.

Gill Richards took pictures of the cast during filming, which took place on Swanage Pier.

Film crew vehicles were seen arriving at North Beach car park yesterday.

The four-part series, which has been written by the Academy Award nominated screenwriter and playwright Kenneth Lonergan, focuses on the social and class divisions in early 20th century England through the intersection of three families – the wealthy Wilcoxes, the idealistic Schlegels, and the working class Basts.

Atwell plays Margaret Schlegel in the adaptation and Macfadyen portrays Henry Wilcox.

Howards End is the latest production to feature scenes shot in Swanage.

Dunkirk, which is being released this summer, saw A-listers Tom Hardy, Harry Styles, and Cillian Murphy come to Dorset to film in Swanage and Weymouth.

And crowds flocked to Swanage Pier in 2015 to watch a film crew shoot scenes for ITV’s Peter and Wendy, an adaptation based on Peter Pan.
