A SPOOF sign banning 'foreign dogs' from a Christchurch beauty spot following Brexit has been removed.
The mocked up notice, which uses Christchurch council's logo, was pinned to a post on Marlow Drive, St Catherine's Hill, a popular spot for dog walkers.
A probable April Fool's joke, the sign was titled: "Brexit and what it means to you."
It continued: "Following the country's decision to leave the European Union, the council under guidance from Central Government will implement changes to the walking of dogs in this area.
"From April 2017, it will be illegal to walk dogs of a European pedigree."
It listed breeds such as German Shepherds, French Poodles and St Bernards, as well as Great Danes because "Denmark still members of the European Union".
British breeds were still welcome, it added.
The notice apologised if the so-called ruling caused any inconvenience but said any breach of the rules would result in a fine.
But this was not payable in Euros.
It was the signed from the council's "head dog warden".
Yesterday morning the letter had been taken down.
