MEMBERS of the public are invited to have their say on the future of a Wimborne attraction next month.

The Priest's House Museum was awarded £145,200 from the Heritage Lottery Fund last year to develop its 'revival' project.

Staff at the venue now have until November to finalise detailed plans and submit a 'round two' application for £982,200.

Two public meetings are to be held at the museum. The first will take place on Saturday, April 1 between 10am and 4pm, with the second - a family-friendly event - planned for Saturday, April 8 between 2pm and 4pm.

Admission to the museum and garden will be free for those who visit to give their views.

Volunteers will also be conducting surveys in the town, and those who wish to have their say, but can't make it into Wimborne, can take a questionnaire by visiting priest-house.co.uk

The funding will be used to refurbish exhibition and display space, enhance the building and make it more accessible.

Wimborne Tourist Information Centre will also be brought into the museum itself.

In total, the project will cost £1.6 million, and an additional £472,000 will be raised through donations and grants from trusts and foundations.

If all funding is secured, the refurbished museum will open in 2019.

The attraction was previously awarded funding in 2010, which was used to build the Hilda Coles Open Learning Centre.
