AN inquest into the death of teenager Callum Cooper has been opened and adjourned at Bournemouth Coroner's Court.
The 16-year-old student, of St Leonards, was found dead in woodland in December last year.
Yesterday, during a short hearing, Dorset Coroner Rachael Griffin, heard how Callum was visiting his carer in the Westbourne area of Bournemouth when he went for a walk.
After he failed to return, she reported him missing to police. His body was found the following day by a member of the public.
Following a full postmortem examination the cause of death was confirmed as hanging.
A full inquest will take place in Bournemouth later this summer.
The court also heard that Dorset Police, following an investigation, were satisfied the teenager's death was not suspicious.
