THE sign on the A338 as you enter Bournemouth should read ‘Welcome to the Filthy litter-strewn town of Bournemouth’.
Every street footpath is covered in litter which sits there for months until its washed into the drains to create flood problems.
When we moved to Bournemouth 20 years ago the first thing we noticed was how clean, tidy and well maintained everywhere was. The only place you see this now is the 100-yard radius around the Town Hall. Makes you wonder why!
I suggest the councillors take a trip to Exmouth or Exeter in Devon to see how clean and tidy the streets are even at 9am on a Sunday morning after the pubs and clubs have disgorged revellers from the premises.
Everywhere is spick and span, no matter what time of day you visit. Not so in Bournemouth... Filth and litter everywhere.
With council tax to exceed over £2,000 pounds this year for a two-bed flat, just where is all this money going?
Certainly not on cleaning the footpaths and streets! It makes you feel ashamed to invite anyone to visit.
