THIS year's Pancake Day will see a Christchurch bowling green transformed into a race track as local celebrities, chefs and business people try to flip their way to victory.
Christchurch Food Festival hosts the event at the old bowling green area opposite the Kings Arms Hotel on Shrove Tuesday to benefit its charity - the Christchurch Food Festival Education Trust.
The festival committee hopes as many teams will enter the race, taking place at 10.30am, to raise money for the good cause.
Teams of four can enter for £20 and individual chefs can enter for £5.
Last year’s event saw Penton Motor Group take the top team prize while Louis Smith, chef at Cheese and Alfies, won the individual chef event.
Vicki Hallam, of the Food Festival committee, said: “We've moved the pancake races from our previous venue in Church Street to the old bowling green to give the teams a bit more space. We're very grateful to the Kings Arms Hotel for allowing us to use the space.
“We had great fun last year and we’d love even more teams to get involved this year to join in the fun.”
