EMERGENCY services rescued a man and his dog after they became stuck in mud in a field in Burton.
Fire crews, paramedics, police officers, and Coastguard mud rescue teams were called following a concern for welfare call at around 3.30pm today.
The man was trapped in mud in a field off Stony Lane, and a police helicopter was sent out to search for the casualty.
A spokesman for UK Coastguard said mud rescue teams from Southbourne and Lymington assisted fire crews in freeing the casualty.
“He was then taken into the care of paramedics, who are currently assessing him. A dog was also brought back from the scene," he said.
