FIVE houses could be built on the site of a former Christchurch restaurant, new plans have revealed.
An application has been submitted to Christchurch council for the Crooked Beam restaurant at The Grove, off Barrack Road.
They propose demolishing the existing building and building five houses in its place.
According to the plans, they would be cluster-style houses, with one three-bedroom house and four two-bedroom houses.
Permission already exists for five properties on the site, and a statement submitted with the new plans say more landscaping is included with the updated scheme to improve the appearance of the site.
Each house would have a private amenity space and there would be seven car parking spaces in total.
