I AM writing in response to the letter from Robert Dalziel regarding toilets on Bournemouth Promenade (Daily Echo, August 25).
Mr Dalziel asks about toilet provision on the undercliff in the East Cliff area.
These toilets were crushed by the landslide at the end of April and whilst the intention is to replace them in the longer term, this isn’t possible before the cliff has been stabilised.
Until that work has been concluded, we cannot be sure that the same thing will not happen again.
The nearest alternative toilets are on the Bournemouth West Promenade which is approximately eight minutes’ walk.
Unfortunately it hasn’t been possible to locate a temporary unit on the East Cliff Promenade as the utilities required have all been shut down due to the cliff slippage.
