AN animal rescue squad displaying its equipment at the New Forest and Hampshire County Show has been involved in a real-life operation.
A trapped pony had to be freed from its own horsebox at the show after lying down or falling over and discovering it was unable to get up again.
The animal was freed by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and is said to be unhurt.
A spokesman said the pony was sedated before being cut free from the horsebox, which was near the entrance to the huge showground at New Park, Brockenhurst.
