POOLE lifting bridge was stuck in a down position after a pedestrian leant on the barrier, causing it to malfunction.
The bridge separating Hamworthy and Poole Quay, remained down for around three hours, while engineers tried to fix the problem.
Larger sailing vessels could find no way in and out of Cobb's Quay from noon on Monday.
