PLANS to replace a large detached property and build a three-storey block of seven town houses in its place have been submitted to Bournemouth council.

The proposal from Pure Town Planning to build on the site in Warren Edge Road, Southbourne, includes provision for seven car parking spaces.

The developer says it has addressed previous issues raised about overdevelopment when a similar scheme was previously refused by the council. Pure Town Planning’s design and access statement says the proposed development “constitutes a striking and innovative architectural design”.

“It is considered that the current proposal has created a carefully balanced and attractive scheme that does not represent overdevelopment of the site, nor creates an overbearing impact on the neighbouring plots, thus maintaining the amenities of neighbouring residents,” the statement says.

“The contemporary units will assimilate comfortably within the road, given the surrounding and substantial modern redevelopment around the application site.”
