THE wait is finally over. After months of speculation and suspense, the winners and finalists of the 2016 Bournemouth Tourism Awards can be revealed.
Award-winning Sky TV presenter and journalist Jayne Secker hosted the 10th annual event at the Purbeck Hall at the BIC last night.
Business owners, managers and their teams, celebrated achievements in tourism over the past year at the largest ever finals of the Bournemouth Tourism Awards.
This year there were 16 award categories which included four new additional voting categories.
Des Simmons, chairman of Bournemouth’s Tourism Awards and managing director of Bournecoast said: “This year’s event was a remarkable achievement, we had the most entries and nominations in the 10 year history of the awards and we sold a record number of tickets.
"The guests in attendance paid tribute to all of the outstanding tourism and leisure businesses here in Bournemouth.
“Each of Bournemouth’s Tourism Awards 2016 winners and finalists has helped to create the very best tourism delivery, which is why visitors return to our town again and again.
"All winners and finalists are based in the BH1 to BH11 post code or if located outside the area, their business has a direct impact on tourism here in Bournemouth. I would like to offer our congratulations to all who participated and wish the very best for business success over the coming year continuing to boost our local economy.”
