A 51-YEAR-OLD man from Bournemouth has appeared in court in the Channel Islands charged with importing half a million pounds worth of cannabis.
Richard Clark from Alma Road appeared before Jersey magistrates on Monday, January 18 following the seizure of 31kg of the drug three days earlier.
The court heard the drugs were found by customs officers on the island in a car coming off a ferry from Poole.
Clark was charged with illegally importing the drug and the magistrates declined jurisdiction in the case, which will now be heard before the island’s Royal Court next month.
He was remanded in custody.
