FAMILIES and shoppers turned out to watch Santa arrive in a horse drawn sleigh at Stewarts Garden Centre in Christchurch on Saturday.
Scores of people braved the murky weather to catch a glimpse of Father Christmas in what has become a much anticipated annual occasion.
This was the seventh year that Santa had been greeted at the centre to cheers from excited children.
The centre’s co-owner, Susie Stewart, said the day had exceeded expectations.
“Santa and his reindeer will be with us until Christmas Eve,” she said. “The fascination for them seems to be stronger than ever.”
Later Father Christmas made the trip from Christchurch to the Stewarts centre at Broomhill near Wimborne.
