ACTRESS and West End star, Kara Tointon, will be special guest at a charity fun day.

The star and winner of Strictly Come Dancing will visit the Colehill Fun Day on August 16, as the patron of the Amelia Grace Rainbow Fund, who are organising the day.

The charity, which was set-up in memory of Amelia-Grace Cooper, who died of a rare form of cancer five years ago, has raised more than £100,000 since it was set-up.

They provide financial assistance to children suffering from terminal, life-limiting and chronic diseases.

Chantel Cox, Amelia's mother and co-founder of the charity said: "From the outset, we were keen to hold a fun day.

"The ethos of the charity is to bring happiness to families with the help of the community and what better way to celebrate these last few years than holding this event at Colehill Sports and Social Club.

"We have lots of exciting shows during the day including the Bournemouth Carnival band dressed up as Batmen, along with the Dorset Troopers.

"Dorset Fire and Rescue will be there with a fire engine for the children to enjoy.

"We have both a falconry and dog agility display as well as numerous stalls and games for children and adults alike.

"Dance acts and acrobatic displays will be on show as well as all the classic bouncy castles and face-painting for children to enjoy."

Children will also have a chance to meet Elsa from Frozen.

Kara first met Amelia at Cancer Research UK's Little Star awards in 2010, and visited her in Bournemouth just days before the youngster sadly passed away.

Since then, she has made time to support Chantel and Karl, Amelia's parents, despite her busy schedule.

Admission is free and the event will run from 11am until 5pm.
