A WOMAN from Poole remains in a critical condition after she was involved in a crash that claimed the lives of two people on Friday evening.

A 45-year-old man from Poole, who was driving a blue Volkswagen Transporter van, was killed in the head-on collision, which happened on the A37 near Grimstone at about 10.15pm.

Dorset Police spokeswoman from said a 37-year-old woman from Poole, who was in the van's passenger seat of the van, remains in a life-threatening condition at Yeovil District Hospital.

Police say the collision involved the van and a black Volkswagen Golf.

Sadly, a 25-year-old Bridport woman, named by her family as Louiza Covey, who was a passenger in the Golf, was also killed in the crash.

The Dorset police spokeswoman said the driver of the car, a 28-year-old man from Devon, remains in Bristol Hospital with life-changing injuries.

Two other passengers, a 28-year-old man from Exeter, 28, and a 26-year-old woman from the Bridport area, 26, also suffered life-changing injuries and yesterday remained in hospital.
