FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a chimney fire at a house in Poole this morning.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service was called to the property on Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, at 9.43am.
On arrival, the crew from Poole Fire Station removed a log burner and register plate to gain access to the flames.
The fire was brought under control by 10.30am.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The service would respectfully remind people to have their chimney swept and inspected each year prior to lighting a fire.”
