SCHOOL children are being
urged to “do something nice for
someone” as part of the
Westbourne Traders’
Association’s Random Acts of
Kindness month.
And youngsters will get the
chance to win an IPad Mini 2 if
they let the judges know what
they have done.
Children are asked to upload
their acts of kindness or
nominate someone who has
carried out a random act of
kindness to
facebook.com/discoverwestbour
nebournemouth.
Steve Taylor, President of the
Westbourne Trader’s Association
said, “We are very keen to
promote the positive, caring and
thoughtful side of our community
and get school children thinking
and talking about what kindness
is and what this can mean. No act
of kindness, however small, is
ever wasted and we look forward
to hearing about all the positive
gestures being made by
Bournemouth pupils.”
He added:“We would like pupils
to think about random acts of
kindness that they might have
seen or experienced and how it
made them think about other
people.”
Steve added, “There are so
many different ways in which you
can show kindness to someone; it
might be in the classroom, at
home with your family, walking
around town, in your
neighbourhood or on the beach.
Where ever you might have been
we would love to hear what you
did.”
The competition was launched
at St Michael’s School in West Hill
Road, Bournemouth.
Head teacher Bob Kennedy said:
"St Michael's Primary School is
very much a community school
and we are really pleased to be
involved in this local community
initiative in Westbourne.
“We shall have a 'kindness box'
in the reception area at school
and will be encouraging the
pupils to write down what they
have done and post in the box."
Businesses in Westbourne have
come together to back the
campaign and are keen to make
sure that they take part too and
offer random acts of kindness to
their customers throughout the
month.
