NEW public facilities on Bournemouth seafront are beginning to take shape.
Last week a steel structure was installed at Durley Chine. When completed, the building will house a new cafe, beach office and public toilets.
The project is part of Bournemouth Borough Council’s strategy to enhance the seafront.
A council spokesman said: “We are re-developing the catering facility at Durley Chine to enhance the look and feel of the area, offer visitors greater choice and provide a convenient location for public facilities.
“Whatever the weather or time of year, beach visitors will soon be able to enjoy quality food from a striking glass-fronted cafe on the beachfront which will offer inside seating for the first time. There will also be a beach-side seating area on the promenade and a sheltered first floor terrace with magnificent sea views across to Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight.”
The new facilities expected to open this summer.
