POOLE Carnival Committee has announced that this year’s event is to be held on Sunday August 2.
Organisers say the carnival, which was held along Ashley Road last summer, was a “massive success” having been resurrected after many years.
“Due to popular demand we are very pleased to announce this year’s carnival will be held on August 2,” said Richard Wilson of the carnival committee.
It will again start at Seaview and process along Ashley Road, and down Alder Road to Branksome Rec for a family fun day.
The committee has also launched a search for a new carnival queen to represent Poole in all its activities throughout the year. A gala night including a contest to find a new queen takes place on March 21 at the Thistle Hotel, Poole Quay. Tickets cost £15 and include a finger buffet.
