A CAR caught fire after smashing into a tree in Poole on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were called at 7.37pm to Wallisdown Road after reports that a blue Peugeot 307, registered to a man from Poole, hit a tree.
An eyewitness described watching the driver and two young children getting out of the car before it went up in flames.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said the incident involved just one vehicle.
He added: “The occupants of the car were uninjured.
“Two children who were in the vehicle at the time were taken to Poole Hospital as a precautionary measure.”
