MEN will be marching on Bournemouth seafront this March to raise money for those in need of surgery for prostate cancer.
Bournemouth Hospital Charity’s March for Men will see men walking or running up to 10km to fund a valuable piece of equipment for the Urology Department at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Last year’s march saw around 350 people taking part and raising more than £25,000.
Kevin Turner, a consultant urologist, said: “Last year’s event was an incredible success and really raised awareness of men’s health services at the hospital.
“We used the money raised to buy an insufflators, which works alongside our state-of-the-art Da Vinci Robot.
“During surgery, pressures in the surgical area change and keeping them constant makes surgery simpler.
“Over 15,000 men are treated at the hospital each year for a number of conditions, including prostate and testicular cancer, and by supporting this event you will be helping these patients.”
The event begins at 9.30am on Sunday, March 22, from Bournemouth Pier.
