A tiny dog found wandering the streets in a Santa outfit before Christmas is enjoying life with his new foster family.
Pickle is being well cared for and has another dog for company but he still desperately needs a permanent home.
Now the rescue organisation looking after him has appealed to Daily Echo readers to give him a chance.
Helen Sanders from the Dorset Animal Workers Group (DAWG) said: “He is a nice little dog and gets on well with other dogs.
“We are confident he would be fine in a family with older children but perhaps not little ones – we don’t know what he’s like with cats.”
Pickle, a small terrier, is thought to be around six-years-old and in good health. He was picked up by a Poole council dog warden after being found outside the Churchill pub in Ashley Road, Parkstone on Sunday December 21.
He was wearing a cosy festive costume – a tiny red coat with a white felt collar and black belt – and seemed to be well looked after.
His owner was in hospital at the time and initially contacted the council to claim him.
But it has since emerged she is unable to look after him and he was placed into the care of DAWG.
Helen urged anyone interested in offering Pickle a home to get in touch on 01202 380467.
