WIMBORNE-based Anthony Clark beat off stiff competition to win the Portsmouth Coastal Waterside Marathon today.
The Poole Runner secured a comfortable victory by more than two minutes as he continued his fine recent form.
Finishing in a time of 2:41.33, Clark was untroubled by the second-placed John Stoddart in the final reckoning (2:43.59). Swindon Harriers' Nathan Montague was third (2:44.52).
Lytchett Manor Striders' Scott Parfitt achieved a more than respectable finish of 28th in 3:08.32.
Bournemouth AC’s Gemma Bragg took glory in the women's race by more than six minutes.
Bragg clocked 3:09.42 with her nearest rival being Stratford-upon-Avon’s Kate Wright (3:16.19). The unattached Andrea Holt was third in 3:18.41.
