POLICE officers have fully re-opened Holes Bay Road following a crash involving a car and a motorbike this afternoon.
The call was made to Dorset Police by the ambulance service just after 2pm with reports of the incident close to the Premier Inn on the northbound direction of the busy main road, travelling away from Poole town centre.
It involved a grey Audi A3, registered to a woman from Poole, and a blue Suzuki motorbike, registered to a man from Poole.
Ambulance staff took the motorbike rider to Poole Hospital with suspected pelvic injuries.
No closure was required on the southbound direction of Holes Bay Road, heading into Poole.
More bus company took to their Twitter page to report that the area around Holes Bay Road and Poole town centre was gridlocked due to the road closure.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said that a recovery vehicle arrived at the scene at 3.18pm.
Officers closed the road while emergency services attended the scene, before it was fully re-opened at 4.30pm.
The Dorset Police spokesperson added that traffic is likely to remain heavy for the foreseeable future but should ease soon.
