DORSET charity Margaret Green Animal Rescue is appealing for help to re-home a six-year-old Rottweiler called Willow.
When Willow arrived at the charity’s Lincoln Farm Centre, near Blandford, she urgently needed an operation to repair the cruciate ligament in her back leg, or face being lame and in pain for the rest of her life.
She is now recovering from the operation, which cost the charity – which is struggling with increased numbers of abandoned and stray animals – £800.
Lincoln Farm rescue dog centre manager Helen Chittock said: “In addition to her surgery, Willow suffers from ataxia which is a neurological condition that caused her to be a little uncoordinated when she moves, resulting in a wobbly gait.”
However, staff say her condition causes her few problems.
