AN AUCTION held live on the radio has raised more than £27,000 for a children’s charity.
Listeners of Wave 105 were given the opportunity to bid on a series of ‘money can’t buy’ items as part of the Cash for Kids annual auction day last week.
The top bids included £1,500 for a F1 Grand Prix qualifying day and £800 for top chef Andy Mackenzie to cook for eight people in one lucky bidder’s home.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “Every year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our charity supporters and Wave 105 listeners; this year was no exception.”
While the on-air auction is now closed, the online auction remains open until 8pm tomorrow.
