FOUR pheasants were killed by dogs during a raid on farmland in Wareham.
Police have urged those living in rural areas to keep alert after the birds were killed overnight on Friday.
Officers believe that at least one person entered a pheasant pen with dogs and killed the birds before damaging a 25-metre section of the enclosure by kicking 12 fence posts down.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If anyone has information about this crime, Dorset Police would like to hear from you.
“Telephone 101 in confidence, quoting the crime number C:14:D:40265.”
