THE company which deals with Poole’s recyclable waste has had its contract extended until 2027.
Viridor has been dealing with the Borough of Poole’s residual and recyclable waste since 2004.
The extension will see it using its material recovery at Crayford as well as working with partners at Lakeside Energy Recovery Facility and New Earth Solutions’ Canford Mechanical and Biological Treatment facility in Poole to recover renewable energy from residual waste.
Colin Richardson, Viridor’s regional manager said: “We are delighted that the Borough of Poole has extended our contract, which is testimony to the service that we have delivered for the past 10 years.”
Xena Dion, cabinet member for the environment at the Borough of Poole, said: “Viridor have been really responsive to our drive to increase our recycling rates and understand how important it is for local residents to see ‘waste’ materials processed locally and to make use of them rather than sending them to landfill.”
