A CARER who appealed via the Daily Echo for the return of her bike has been given a new one.
Anna Trethewy, 57, was on her round of clients when her bike was stolen.
As this was her only form of transport and she wasn’t able to afford a new one, she had to borrow a colleague’s bike to get to work.
Fortunately, charity cycle store Hope 2 Cycle was willing to give her a brand new bike for her travel and work commitments.
Anna has been a consistent customer at the store in Moordown for the past three years and even considers the staff to be ‘good friends’.
“I was absolutely gutted when my bike was stolen, but now the guys at Hope 2 Cycle have done this I’m on cloud nine – I can’t thank them enough,” said Anna.
Receiving the bike will have a great impact on her life, enabling her to continue to work and provide income for her home.
Lee Nelson, 47, cycle technician at Hope 2 Cycle said: “She is a good customer of ours and we admire the work that she does.
“We felt like it was the least we could do – we are all trying to help people.”
